WELCOME

…to the happiest (Jake: and/or gayest) blog on Earth.

This is Gays do Disney. I’m Andy, and sat next to me is Jake, my boyfriend of four years. We’re both of appropriate age to be considered “past it” by some but considered “youth” by others. (J: please bear in mind that Andy is three years older than me and speaks only for his own oldness).

Over the years we’ve indulged in a good old full marathon binge of all sorts of things, including but not limited to Breaking Bad, Charmed, Doctor Who, Friends, American Dad and The Simpsons. Having sat down and determined our next challenge, we’ve decided to blog it. It’s an arduous mission, full of bad people falling into oblivion, the inherently easy lives of royalty and singing wildlife.

Yes, we’re watching every Disney film – one per week; and blogging our musings on every single one of them. (J: get set for a crazy year, chums).

Each week, we’ll be taking it in turns writing up the blog – fingers crossed I get The Lion King and Jake gets Saludos Amigos.

To be clear, by every Disney film, we mean every film considered to be part of the Disney Animated Canon, as well as the remaining Walt Disney Animation Studios releases (the live action stuff like Mary Poppins, mostly), coming to a grand total of 65 movies. Some of them are classics – I cannot WAIT to go through the 1990s (J: why can’t we just watch Mulan 65 times?!) – some of them are probably just sort of okay (I’m not that enthused about watching The Great Mouse Detective) whereas some of them (Victory Through Air Power; So Dear to My Heart) I have legit never heard of.
